Candida auris

Blood culture, Gram stained.Yeast-like cell들과 Gram-negative bacilli가 공존합니다.

- 라틴어 auris는 “귀”라는 뜻이며, ear infection을 일으키기 때문에 붙여진 이름.

- 다제내성진균: 90%가 fluconazole 내성 / 3~73%가 voriconazole 내성 / 13~35%가 amphotericin B 내성 / 다행히 아직까지는 echinocandin에 대해서는 대부분 감수성

- All C. auris isolates should undergo antifungal susceptibility testing, however, there are currently no established C. auris-specific susceptibility MIC breakpoints. (CLSI guideline)

- Therefor, breakpoints are defined based on those established for closely-related Candida species
